ABOUT LITE Memphis
Dreams and beliefs are nothing without action. Let’s Innovate Through Education empowers low-income high school students to take action by launching social venture ideas to improve their communities, building an entrepreneurial pipeline and developing problem solving, goal setting, and organizational skills in the process. We believe children learn best when they discover skills through their passions and we equip them with the resources they need to launch ideas and develop important real-world skills, empowering students with key tools to find scholarships and internships, succeed in college, and excel in the job market after college. LITE equips high school students with the leadership skills they need to impact their communities, now and in the future.
20 for 2020 Campaign
In our first three years, LITE has helped 600 students develop real-world skills by launching their entrepreneurial ideas, but we need your help to continue this growth. By the year 2020, our fifth year, we hope to impact the lives of 5,000 students with 100% of program alumni on track for college graduation and employed or starting businesses after graduation.
Your donation of $20 goes much further than supporting one student. Every dollar raised helps support projects that both give invaluable skills to our students AND bring positive change to their communities.

An Urgent Issue
In the past 40+ years, more low income students have been attending college and the gap in college attendance between the top and bottom 20% has narrowed.
But at the same time, the gap in graduation rates has gotten much LARGER. Only 9 PERCENT of students from the lowest income quintile graduate from college by 24, compared to 77 percent in the highest.
Our Vision For Change
How Do We Do It
Malicat’s story is just one example of the incredible success we’ve had with our students.
