There are many ways you can support LITE and get involved! From one-time volunteering to becoming a mentor, you can make a difference in a young minority entrepreneur's journey.
How Our Mentors Help
Our mentor coaches are a vital part of LITE's success. Our coaches work with our students on a weekly basis and help build their projects by giving advice on marketing, budgeting, pitching, and building relationships in the community.
Since our program produces finalists every semester, we are always looking for more mentors to serve! Know someone that would be a great mentor? Nominate them below:
Here's what mentors are saying
"Through high school and college, my most valuable experiences were never in the classroom — I found the most useful skills and lessons came from building and leading organizations. I mentor with LITE because it gives students the opportunity to successfully pursue their ideas and build the confidence and skill sets necessary to break cycles of poverty."
- Evan Katz
"I always enjoy volunteering with LITE and feel like it's a valuable way to spend my time, especially because I see the students grow as people and entrepreneurs so quickly! I've always felt a strong sense of community among LITE volunteers."
"I've been involved with LITE Memphis for over two years and believe there's no better program in Memphis that empowers the next generation of leadership in our city, and works to move the needle on building wealth and creativity."
